About us
Who are we?
Welcome to the website of
South Yorkshire performance academy (syPA).
SYPA fuses the ideas of performance & promoting positive mental health in a practical environment. We have created an open, inclusive environment where learning and creating explores core skills to take onto any career choice. We believe that mental, emotional and physical health is paramount. At SYPA we will nurture every young artists journey through the arts. The parallel between members wellness and pushing our young artists will ensure the exceeding of self expectations.

SYPA works to protect the characteristics outlined in the Equality Act 2010 and believes
every production is a team effort where everyone has their right to shine.
SYPA is an independent, non profit community group based in South Yorkshire for 10 - 25 year olds.
Our focus is on the self development of every young person. The objective is to improve self confidence as well as teamwork and communication skills. We attract a large spectrum of individuals and the collaboration of everyone's perspective is what makes every year so special.

We aim for artistic excellence and are committed to nurturing the talent of every member. We pride ourselves in pushing our diverse artists boundaries in all aspects of performance. Our high standards of shows, education and performance continue to push the limits of achievement, inspiring the transformation of lives and communities.

The tailored mix of knowledge, leadership development and professional environment equips members with skills needed for modern day life. Alumni have gone onto a range of careers including performing, paramedics and veterinary services.
Alumni have also gained places at top drama colleges such as Bird, SLP, Urdang, Guildford School of Acting, The Hammond, Italia Conti, Performers, CAPA and TBA.
It's true, since we opened our doors, our members and their families make us who we are. We run a non judgemental platform, for individuals to express themselves on an artistic and emotional level. SYPA attracts a large spectrum of individuals - diverse in age, ethnicity, background, sexuality and gender and the diversity of each individual is celebrated. The fusion between members passion and SYPA's inclusive creative environment creates a progressive family surrounding.
As we are a non profit organisation we hold events to fundraise. Any monies from productions / events goes straight into our rising stars.
